Plaque bacteria use free sugars and make acids. Enamel has a harder time recovering if sweet drinks, candy, cookies, or juices are spread across the day.
What raises risk
- sweet tea or coffee in small sips all day;
- juices, soda, energy drinks, and sweet yogurts between meals;
- sticky sweets that stay on teeth;
- brushing without fluoride toothpaste or rare interdental cleaning.
How to reduce the damage
Keep sweets with a main meal instead of constant snacking. Water is the best drink between meals. After an acidic drink, do not brush hard right away: rinse with water and wait. Fluoride toothpaste twice a day remains the prevention baseline.
AIOral’s limit
AIOral can help you notice sugar frequency as a factor and suggest a week-long habit. It does not judge enamel from a photo and does not decide whether you have a cavity.
